Gina Chersevani (PS7, at left), 1st place winner of the Beacon’s Best Martini Contest, might have taken home first prize for her “The Smoking Brazilian” beverage (garnished with homemade smoked acai cotton candy) because it scored well in all areas of “Drink”, “Creativity”, “Taste”, and “Presentation”… or maybe because it made the hosts horny.
According to Tom Cotteau, head of National Beverage Distribution, he chose judges for the Beacon’s Best Martini Contest that were “people who are very famous, people known for drinking, or… known to embarrass people with their drinking”.
And although not a judge himself, he did let on that Acai was one of the best ingredients in the mixologists cocktails because it is known to be a natural aphrodisiac. “If your feeling kind horny, well we are in a hotel,” he said. “Drink up and hump!”
