Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. It’s hard to think about cherry blossoms while there is still snow on the ground.  But the National Cherry Blossom Festival Organization has been planning your city Springtime tradition all year long!

Monday night, they threw a launch party for the Cherry Blossom Festival’s new website – after ten years of the same – at Redline Gastrolounge.  Attendees interacted with the portal through touchscreens and did some wishful longing for the blossoms while checking out the site’s new look.

This year’s festival is set for March 26 – April 10.  Here’s to temperatures staying on track for peak bloom!
