Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) will be hosting an event in partnership with Canopy by Hilton on Monday, March 6 from 5:30 pm to 7:30pm at 940 Rose Avenue North Bethesda, MD 20852.

The Women’s History Month theme for 2023 is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories”. In recognition of the theme, MWBC is proud to cohost the Roundtable “The Power of Storytelling for Women Entrepreneurs”. The in-person event will provide attendees the opportunity to network, update their headshots, enjoy complimentary libations from Hello Betty, receive skincare consultations from Privai Spa, and hear from a dynamic panelist about the importance of storytelling for entrepreneurs.

The panel will include conversations with:

  • Amanda Bosland, Communications Manager with Rockville Economic Development, Inc.

    • A native of Trinidad & Tobago, Amanda Bosland has over 10 years of experience, helping nonprofits and businesses communicate and sell effectively around the world. She began her career in destination marketing and has since broadened her focus to marketing and branding for businesses in a variety of industries, including education, gaming, food and beverage, and e-commerce. Amanda’s passion for marketing communications lies in helping companies craft strategies that engage staff and create loyal customers, while positively affecting the communities they serve.

  • Tanya Baskin, President & CEO of The Baskin Group

    • Tanya Baskin is a creative strategist and an accomplished marketing and brand building professional. Serving as a marketing and communications strategist for institutions looking to transform their current brand perception and expand their impact, she spearheads campaigns and initiatives that bring this to fruition.   • Robin Fisher, Image Strategist and Creator of Polished Image and Style

    • US born and globally bred, Robin Fisher is the must-meet style and image strategist for high-achieving women. A former fashion executive turned entrepreneur, Robin spent twenty-five years in the fashion industry before making the professional pivot to build Polished Image and Style, one of the leading style and image consulting firms in the Washington Metro area. While she helps women to build the perfect wardrobe, what she really does is support women in creating the confidence required to reach the next level of life and success they desire.
