Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. National Museum of Women in the Arts’ 2022 Spring Gala
On Friday, April 8, 2022, the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) hosts its annual black-tie gala, made possible by Dior. This year’s gala will honor Dior’s first woman Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, feminist artist Judy Chicago and co-CEO and President of Ariel Investments Mellody Hobson each with NMWA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Join gala co-chairs Ashley Davis and Marlene Malek alongside luminaries from Washington’s diplomatic, governmental and social communities. The Ambassador of France, Mr. Philippe Étienne will be our Honorary Diplomatic Chair. The event will feature a seated dinner and entertainment. This will be the first gala held since 2019. NMWA looks forward to continuing this much-loved tradition of gathering each spring in celebration of the museum’s important work and honoring groundbreaking women in arts.
