Qualifications:

The Miss District of Columbia finalists have found gentlemen in DC (must live/work/attend school in the District) between the ages of 21-30 who are unmarried, intelligent, and dapper in a suit.

In addition to competing for Mr. DC and participating in the pageant, the Mr. DC candidates, along with their respective Miss DC teammate, work together to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. 40% of scoring for Mr. DC is based on fundraising efforts.

The Mr. District of Columbia pageant was formed in May 2012 through the Miss District of Columbia Scholarship Organization, a member of the Miss America Organization (MAO). CMNH is the national platform for MAO and all local and state contestants are required, as a service project, to raise funds for the charity. Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, District of Columbia is a CMN hospital and funds stay within the community of origin. In its inaugural year, the Mr. District of Columbia Charity Pageant raised more than $7,700 for CMNH.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Penn Social is the newest sponsor for the Mr. DC charity pageant. Other sponsors include The Lucky Knot, Lucky Strike Lanes, Skinny Tan, The W Salon, and Smiling Bright, and Flowers on Fourteenth.
