Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The Alliance Française de Washington, D.C. (AFDC), in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary, is pleased to present French pianist Claude Bessmann for an evening recital February 8, celebrating the works of Maurice Ravel and Franz Liszt. 

Claude Bessmann began her career by winning first prize in piano in the class of the world-renowned pianist Vlado Perlemutter. She went on to win the gold medal at the International Competition in Vercelli, Italy. She is currently professor of piano at the Ecole Nationale de Musique de Paris and at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris.
