Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. WHO:               Mary Barra (CEO of General Motors, Honoree), Katherine Johnson (NASA Mathematician, Honoree), Debbie Sterling (CEO & Founder of Goldieblox, Honoree), Secretary Sally Jewell (United States Secretary of the Interior, Honoree) and many more.

WHAT:              The National Women’s History Museum’s mission is to educate, inspire, empower, and shape the future by integrating women’s distinctive history into the culture and history of the United States. This year’s de Pizan Honors Gala will honor history-makers to ensure that their legacy remains alive. The lives and contributions of the recipients of the de Pizan Honors will have a lasting presence, exhibited on the NWHM website at www.nwhm.org. Additionally, the Museum plans to feature a permanent “de Pizan” display in the Museum once it is built.
