Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. This New Years, you don’t have to spend last dime for a wonderful time, as Art Soiree is throwing its second annual Puttin’ on the Ritz – a super duper New Year’s Eve celebration Wednesday, December 31st at 9pm at the elegant and historic Ritz-Carlton, right in the heart of Georgetown. (3100 South Street NW, Washington DC)
Themed after the famous song “Puttin on the Ritz”, the event invites people of style and taste to enjoy the countdown to 2015 with exquisite hors d’oeuvres and a glass of complimentary champagne while live band, DJ, exciting surprise performances, festive party favors, confetti and balloon drop set the celebratory atmosphere in three different locations of the hotel.
  • LIVING ROOM LOUNGE – Live performance by five piece live band playing jazz and slowly amping it up to R&B/funk/top 40 throughout the night. (Joe Brotherton (trumpet), Andrew Flores (piano), Mykle Lyons (bass), Vic Chase (drums) and David Akers singing)
  • DEGREES BAR – Live broadcast of the festivities in New York City’s Times Square and the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop.
  • BALLROOM – All night dance floor as DJ Moosic spins non-stop European house and dance music accompanied with live hula dance performance by Keely Madison.
When the countdown ends and the clock strikes midnight, confetti and a balloon drop will welcome the New Year, and the night will continue with dancing into the early hours of the morning!
