Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. WHAT

AFDC welcomes you to another installment of its monthly screening series, Ciné Francophone. This Friday’s film is “Rebelle” (“War Witch”), a provocative story of a 14-year-old girl living in Sub-Saharan Africa, who tells her unborn child growing inside her the story of her life at war.

 

The New York Times says: “’War Witch’” is so clear-eyed that it makes you wonder how much more irrational this world is than the so-called civilized one under its camouflage of material wealth.”
