The newly popular Alexandria’s Food & Wine Festival is set to return this summer on Saturday, June 21stfrom 12:00PM-5:00PM in the Old Town Alexandria’s Carlyle District.

Delectable bites and delicious wines will transform the Carlyle District into a lively festival, complete with live entertainment, children’s corner, and local vendors. Attendees will be able to sample food and wine from a variety of local restaurants and Virginia’s wineries.  Local restaurants will compete for the best appetizer, the best main course and the best dessert – judged by notable DC foodie judges (to be announced soon).

Wineries:
 Democracy Vineyard, Lake Anna Winery, Mattaponi Winery, Horton Winery, Unicorn Winery (more to be announced)

RestaurantsWalker’s Grille, Alexandria Cupcake, Las Tasca, Hilton Old Town, Rita’s Ice, Trademark, Wholefoods, Delia’s, Rice & Spice. (more to be announced)

Food Vendors: Olio Tasting Room, JD Gourmet, Scratch DC and Kerry Gold Butters & Cheese from Ireland (more to be announced)

Children’s Corner: This year’s children’s activities are sponsored by Community Fork Lift who will provide arts and crafts activities for children and educate kids about the importance of recycling.  The festival will also have David Camero: IL Troubadour Macaroon, who will have a show for children and a variety of other kid activity fun.

 

Every year the festival donates a portion of the festival proceeds to a local non-profit. This year’s charity of choice is Volunteer Alexandria. Volunteer Alexandria is in the business of helping Alexandrians give back to this City with their whole heart, through volunteering.  Volunteer Alexandria are essentially matchmakers providing connections between volunteers and nonprofits or City agencies needing assistance the most.

 

This is a free event to attend; however tickets are needed to sample food and beverages.  Tickets are $15 (per area, wine area + food area) untilJune 6 and can be purchased online at the festival website. After June 6, the price is $20 (each area) on site.

Cost: This is a FREE event to attend; however tickets are needed to sample food and beverages.

Tickets are $15 (each area) until June 6 to be purchased online. After June 6, the price is $20 (each area) on site.

 

For Example:

Food Samples (only) – $20 for 8 taste tickets

Wine Garden (only) – $20 per person.  Gives access to the wine garden with tasting samples from the wineries.

Food + Wine Tasting – Includes 8 tickets for food tasting + wine tastings from Virginia wineries

All Sales Final.

 

Transportation: One block from King Street Metro. Ample garage and street parking.
