Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Deacon Does DC Launch Party

Stopped by Tattoo Friday afternoon for a happy hour party to congratulate McLean Robbins on the “launch” of her blog, Deacon Does DC. It’s been around a while, but I think this means she plans to ramp up the writing!

I met McLean late last year, just before she had me do some scavenger hunting around the inaugural for her Frugal Fashionista column on Washingtonian.com.

The party had door prizes galore and lots of great girlfriends (and guy friends) giving “Deacon” some well-deserved high-fives.

I’m sure Deacon Does DC is going to be a great success – and look forward to reading about Deacon’s adventures. (Deacon wasn’t at the party… Deacon is her dog!)
