DC’s Oscar Night Events Kick Off with City-Wide Film Hunt

Film buffs who know movie scenes from the nation’s capital (shown in major motion pictures) had the chance to win VIP tickets to the Red Cross Oscar Night® America 2011 Sunday afternoon as they participated in a movie scavenger hunt around the city.

To kick-off its fourth annual Oscar Night®, the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region and the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development joined forces to host the hunt, giving participants instructions and clues to guide them to locations around the city where famous films have been shot. Over 150 people showed up to scour the city’s real-life film set… and the winning team finished in just over 45 minutes!

*Oscar Night® America 2011 is the only official Academy-sanctioned Washington, D.C. viewing party and is one of the major fundraising activities for the Red Cross. The black tie event will be held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. on February 27, 2011.
