Cocktails (Non-Inaugural)

After some filming work in Bethesda – be sure to watch Let’s Talk Live today – it was nice to spend the evening catching up with friends and enjoying some events for local non-inaugural activities.

Roby Penn invited a few of us to a housewarming reception in his new home at the Watergate. I’m amazed at how quickly Roby decorated. I’ve been living in my new place months longer than Roby and I don’t even have curtains yet! I also don’t have any hunting trophies… but that’s another story entirely.

And I was just able to catch the end of Martinis for the Mall at Teatro Goldoni where I ran into Donna Shor of Washington Life, who was dining with several lovely ladies, including Debbie Brooks (pop art handbag designer) who’ll be showcasing her art, handbags and accessories on Fox today.

*Martinis for the Mall was an event to benefit a relatively new organization, The Trust for the National Mall. According to event host Lindley Thornburg, “With 25 million annual visitors and $350 million in deferred maintenance, our nation’s premier park has endured countless problems including badly damaged lawns, a sinking sea wall around the Tidal Basin, stagnant reflecting pools and inadequate signage, restrooms and food facilities. It is our hope to raise the necessary funds to return “America’s Front Yard” into the treasure it once was!”
