A Recycled Earth Day

Earth Day: it’s about loving where you live.  So be clean and green, but don’t just take out the trash… repurpose it!

  • Got tech? Rid yourself of those outdated or excess pieces around your home, office or garage! GMU hosts a two-day electronics recycling event where your unused plug-inables and batteries will be donated to a reclamations company in exchange for a monetary contribution to Childrensfund.net on April 21st and 22nd.
  • Better than just a bottle stopper, your cork comes to the rescue!  Take your saved wine souvenirs to Firefly this week – and all year long – to recycle the material into new uses, like shoes, flooring tiles or maybe even a future spacecraft heat shield!
  • And revisit your latest artistic experience at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria.  The Hotel hosts a pop-up art exhibit showcasing regional creatives’ work made entirely from recycled materials. Free and open to the public evenings 5-6 PM.
