Uniqlo Lands in Georgetown

Looking for better basics? Uniqlo has officially made its Georgetown debut, bringing its signature blend of Japanese simplicity, smart styling and everyday ease to one of DC’s most fashionable ZIP codes.

The new store — a legacy of the brand’s first store in Hiroshima from 1984 — serves up beloved essentials for men and women, from polished layers to ultra-wearable separates.

And this Georgetown outpost has a practical perk worth knowing about. At the RE.UNIQLO Studio, shoppers can give favorite pieces a little more life with common repairs, including stitching and button replacement, for just $5.

There’s a sustainability story here, too. Through the studio’s RE.UNIQLO program, gently used Uniqlo clothing can be dropped in the donation box and passed along to nonprofit partner Covenant House. Pieces that are simply past their prime don’t go straight to the trash, either; unwearable garments are collected to become raw materials or materials for future clothing.
