Stephane Koerwyn’s Sculptural Dresses are Art in Motion at the Park Hyatt
The Park Hyatt in DC’s West End neighborhood turned some guest rooms into an art gallery this week, unveiling a temporary exhibition featuring the work of internationally recognized French artist Stephane Koerwyn.
On view in both the public spaces and select private suites of the luxury hotel, the exhibit includes 30 of Koerwyn’s aluminum dress sculptures—part of his ongoing “When Art Becomes Fashion” collection. The installation is scheduled to remain on display through October 30, 2025 (with all pieces available for purchase).

The sculptural works, made from painted recycled aluminum, were previously presented as wearable pieces in fashion shows around the world before being reshaped into standalone artworks. With their bold colors and dynamic forms, the sculptures aim to bridge the gap between visual art and high fashion. Each piece reflects Koerwyn’s interest in movement, transformation, and the idea of art as a lived experience.
Koerwyn, who transitioned into the art world after a two-decade career in marketing, has had his works appear in cities from Paris to Singapore, and New York to now… back to Washington, DC, where he held his first very first exhibition.

To mark the opening of the exhibit, Koerwyn visited the hotel and attended a private reception for guests. At the event, and to complement the exhibition until it closes later this year, the hotel’s culinary team at Park Hyatt’s Blue Duck Tavern introduced a limited-time cocktail, the European Spring, intended as a nod to the bright colors and springtime energy of Koerwyn’s sculptures.
