Kimpton Transforms Savoy Suites into 10th Local Property — the Glover Park Hotel
High up Wisconsin Avenue in NW Washington’s Glover Park, the Savoy Suites Hotel is about to undergo a “significant, multimillion-dollar renovation, rebrand and redesign of all guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, outdoor and event spaces” as it comes to officially join the Kimpton portfolio as the Glover Park Hotel in spring 2016.
The transformation and re-opening — as the new Kimpton Glover Park Hotel — makes this Kimpton’s 10th hotel property in DC.
World renowned artist Michele Oka Doner has released ideas for the new hospitality destination that draw freely on bringing nature from outside-in… that will be brought to life by celebrated designer Anna Busta.
For example, a stylized map of Rock Creek Park will grace the Glover Park Hotel’s eight-story Wisconsin Avenue façade, and inside, urban touches (think: brick walls, wood and steel finishes, rounded signature furnishings and abstract patterns) complement a palette of earth tones and naturally-inspired materials.
Of particular note — twenty-five of Glover Park Hotel’s premier guest rooms will have sweeping views of the National Mall and Potomac River. Twenty-one rooms will have kitchenettes – ideal for families and longer stay guests.
Of course, Glover Park Hotel will be a Kimpton… and so will offer all of Kimpton’s signature touches (complimentary morning coffee and tea service, nightly hosted wine hours, luxurious bath products, 300 thread-count Frette linens, complimentary Wi-Fi) and coolness (custom maps of the neighborhood including nearby park trails, Gaiam yoga mats in every guest room).
Kimpton Glover Park Hotel will be located at 2505 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C.
