Inside the 31st Annual Lab School Gala
The Lab School of Washington hosted its 31st Anniversary Gala last week at the National Building Museum.
The evening honored four people — Screenwriter/Director Justin Theroux, Musician/Artist Sally Taylor (daughter of James Taylor and Carly Simon), NoticeAbility.org Founder * and Business Executive/Venture Capitalist Louis “Bo” Polk — with learning differences that have made great achievements in their field. These awardees serve as an inspiration for the students and their families, visualizing a similar bright future for themselves or their children.
For almost fifty years, The Lab School has provided an educational experience for students who learn differently, either from having diagnosed issues like dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning differences that made it challenging for them to learn in a traditional school setting. Earlier in the day, awardees toured the school to participate in a Q & A assembly with students.
The evening gala and dinner dance raised critical funds to continue the school’s mission: to unlock each child’s full potential.
