Inside the 28th Annual Bark Ball
The Washington Humane Society (WHS) hosted its 28th annual black-tie gala – the Bark Ball – last Saturday at the Washington Hilton. Suggested to be the only black-tie event where DC socials can bring their four-legged friends as a guest, the Bark Ball had locals donning their tuxes and dusting off their tails for an evening that included a reception, extensive silent and live auction, dinner, short program, and dancing.
This year’s Bark Ball welcomed back as Master of Ceremonies, Washington football team Senior Vice President and Executive Producer of Media, Larry Michael and guests to include Former City Councilmember David Catania and DC City Councilmember Jack Evans.
The Bark Ball raised more than $615,000 to support the more than 51,000 animals for which the Washington Humane Society provides comfort and care.
