Hollywood Sweetheart Couple Opens RPM Italian in Mt. Vernon

FullSizeRender_9One of Hollywood’s favorite couples — Giuliana and Bill Rancic — was in town last week to host the grand opening of their newest RPM Italian location.  Along with partners R.J. Jerrof and Molly Melman, the couple opened its sister restaurant to RPM in Chicago in the Mt. Vernon Triangle neighborhood. With local VIP guests like lobbyist Tony Podesta, TV personalities Michael Wilbon and Tony Korheiser from ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, and former bodyguard for Obama, Reggie Love, the opening was a who’s who of local celebrities and power players.

Being local to Bethesda, Giuliana had a whole crew of family and friends on hand (Nod to the most fashionable there: Ron and Bob Stuart, at right).FullSizeRender_14

Before entering, attendees ogled over little Duke, Giuliana and Bill’s son, and one of the highlights from their show on E!.  The opening was packed, as expected. Luckily the space is expansive, with over three grand rooms, three bars, a few private dining rooms and a patio, there was plenty of room to explore.

Guest were invited to roam about the space, sampling hors d’oeuves and drinks from the menu. A fresh raw bar featured by large ice sculptures served clams, mussels, king crab meat and shrimp.  Another visit is in order to try some of the more classic dishes, like Mama DePandi’s Pasta Pomodoro, and other hand crafted pastas and unique dishes from RPM Italian Executive Chef, Chef Doug Psaltis.
