Georgetown House Tour Fêtes Frida and Friends at Patron’s Party

You’d be hard pressed to find someone at Wednesday night’s Georgetown House Tour Patron’s Party that didn’t have a Frida Burling story.

In a tradition established by Frida in 2001, the Patron’s Party is the kick-off extravaganza to the annual House Tour event, a Saturday afternoon (4/27/19) peek inside the residences and gardens of some of the most historic and envy inducing homes in the Georgetown neighborhood.  Almost two decades later, Frida has passed away, but her memory holds strong, and the Patron’s Party is one of the most anticipated community events of the Spring season.

Attendees’s shared their Frida stories — and dished on the anticipated tour of home selections — with Frida’s daughter, Belinda Winslow, who attended Wednesday’s garden party extravaganza at the home of Brooke and Stephane Carnot on R Street.

And because Frida was also a member of the Junior League, and the League has dedicated volunteers and other support to the House Tour and its beneficiary, St. John’s Episcopal Church Ministries, Rev. Gini Gerbasi (at right) awarded current JLW President Tycely Williams the Frida Burling Community Service Award at the luxe garden party.  The inaugural award celebrated the organization’s involvement and support of the tour for the last 25 years.

Among those in attendance were Frank Randolph, Jennifer and David Romm, Dr. Tina Alster, Barbara Crocker, Anchyi Wei, Erin Blakely, Christian Moritz, and obviously Frida Burling — there in spirit.

The Georgetown House Tour will take place Saturday, April 27th.
