This DC Hotel Just Became the Capital City’s Most Awarded Place to Stay
Travel + Leisure announced The Jefferson, DC, a 99-room luxury boutique property just a few blocks from the White House, as the top hotel in Washington DC during its 2024 World’s Best Awards.
“Every member of The Jefferson, DC team takes exceptional pride in the relationships we cultivate with our guests and the level of hospitality we strive to consistently deliver,” said The Jefferson, DC General Manager David Bueno.
The Jefferson was originally built as a luxury apartment block in 1923. By 1955, the property had been turned into a hotel for discerning travelers. After its latest major renovation in 2009, the property boasts guest rooms and suites with sweeping city views, event and meeting rooms, and two distinctive dining concepts — Quill Bar & Lounge and The Greenhouse.
Now, The Jefferson, DC can claim it is also one of — if not THE — most awarded hotel in the Nation’s Capitol.
This year alone, The Jefferson, DC has received numerous awards and accolades. MICHELIN Guide, announcing its very first selection of hotels awarded MICHELIN Keys in the U.S., recognized The Jefferson, DC as one of only two local properties to earn “Two MICHELIN Keys;” U.S. News & World Report announced the hotel eighth in its “The 50 Best Hotels in the USA” and 1st in Washington.
The Jefferson DC was also recognized in Fodor’s Finest The Best Hotels in North America, received a 4-Star rating in the 2024 Forbes Travel Guide, and earned TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, it’s likely your pup’s trophy winner as well. The Jefferson DC welcomes all breeds up to 50 pounds with plush dog beds, bowls, filtered water, dog treats, and walking maps. And the self-guided history tour on “Famous Dogs and Animals in American History “ — curated by the hotel’s in-house historian — puts The Jefferson’s presidential pooch treatment over the top.
