Chamber Dance’s 20’s Gala a ‘Bash Magnifique’
Chamber Dance Project’s 1920s jazz-themed Bash Magnifique Gala Benefit was held last Saturday at the Historic Decatur House.
Over 150 guests, dressed in their dapper flapper best, enjoyed cocktails, meeting CDP artists and participating in a silent auction.
After dinner, guests were treated to a preview of CDP’s new June 2017 “Ballet, Brass & Song” season work, the Cole Porter-inspired Songs by Cole, which will be making its world premiere on June 22 at Sidney Harman Hall.
Gala attendees also enjoyed seeing several other CDP repertoire works featuring CDP company and guest musicians and dancers including jazz duo Lena Seikaly and Barry Gurley, Mosche Brass, dancers Luz San Miguel and Gian Carlo Perez, and cellist Sean Neidlinger.
This year’s Gala chair was Charo Abrams, Executive VP at RSVP Catering, whose company, a CDP season sponsor, catered the event.
Proceeds from the gala will support Chamber Dance Project’s June 2017 season and community engagement programs, which include meet the artist events, free programs and a CDP donation of 100 season performance tickets to local social service agencies affording children and families the ability to experience the arts.
