Missionary Mischief: The Book of Mormon Converts DC, Again!
The latest Broadway at the National musical comedy has returned, and it’s still as outrageous, catchy, and crowd-pleasing as ever. The Book of Mormon, one of the most successful shows in Broadway history, is back at the National Theatre through May 3, 2026, and the buzz hasn’t faded a bit since its debut.
If you’ve somehow missed it (or you’re ready for a repeat dose of irreverent brilliance), now’s your chance to see what all the hype is about.
Created by the minds behind South Park, this Tony Award–winning musical leans fully into its signature brand of sharp satire and boundary-pushing humor. At its core, The Book of Mormon follows a pair of young missionaries sent halfway across the world to spread their faith… only to find themselves wildly unprepared for the realities they encounter.

While the show draws loosely on the origins and practices of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, expect more of a full-throttle comedic spectacle blending outrageous scenarios with surprisingly heartfelt moments.
The current national tour cast brings fresh energy to the production, with crisp comedic timing and powerhouse vocals.
Not sure if it’s your thing? Fair warning: the show is unapologetically crude, frequently profane, and doesn’t shy away from controversial material. Some scenes, particularly those set in Uganda, are intentionally uncomfortable, walking a fine line between satire and shock. That tension is very much by design, though it may not land the same way for every audience member.

What keeps people coming back? For all its absurdity, The Book of Mormon manages to find genuine heart in its story about belief, friendship, and the stories we tell to make sense of the world.
Run time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission. With a limited engagement through May 3, 2026, tickets are going fast, so if you’re curious (or just in need of a night of unfiltered laughter), now’s the time to grab your seat.
