Café Unido Brings Panama to Union Market’s La Cosecha

A new place for a Panamanian pour has arrived in the Union Market District, where Café Unido has expanded into a larger, livelier space inside La Cosecha. The place-driven coffee concept is pairing its signature beans with a broader, all-day café-to-cocktail format.

By morning, it’s a brisk but balanced breakfast scene, with açaí bowls, bacon-laced wraps, and elevated egg sandwiches alongside single-origin sips from Panama’s volcanic highlands. By evening, the tone turns a touch more indulgent, with cocktails, curated wines, and a tight tapas lineup. Think: crisp chicharrón, cheesy tequeños, and savory arancini… designed for casual, convivial grazing.

Founded in Panama in 2014 and first planted in DC in 2019, Unido has built a following around coffee with clarity and character, from everyday cups to coveted Geisha. The expanded La Cosecha footprint builds on that foundation.

Now open at 1280 4th Street NE, the café keeps hours from 8 am through the evening, stretching later on weekends as it settles into its role as a coffee spot with a social streak. And more local locations are already in the pipeline!
