Art Ave Arrives in the Golden Triangle This Fall
Picture this: you’re on your lunch break, passing by Farragut Square, now dotted with bright pink umbrellas and Parisian garden-style chairs. You pause, sit, take it in. A sculpture’s glow catches your eye. You wander over. It’s playful. It’s unexpected. It’s exactly the kind of creative spark that can make a routine moment feel extraordinary.
Because sometimes, it’s the unexpected splash of art, color, and community that turns an ordinary moment into a memory.
This September, step into something just like this. You’ll find a new chapter of public art and placemaking with Art Ave, a bold, outdoor experience that is bringing a burst of creativity to Farragut Square and the surrounding blocks of Connecticut Avenue NW.
Launching with a flourish on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11 AM at Farragut Square, and continuing through January 2026, Art Ave will transform three blocks of the Golden Triangle — between 800 and 1000 Connecticut Avenue NW — with 13 large-scale, museum-quality sculptures and dynamic window art installations. Many pieces are interactive, glowing at dusk and beckoning exploration any time of day.
And Art Ave is more than eye candy. It’s a statement: that public art and well-designed public spaces are engines of civic vitality. It’s about turning quotidian downtown life into something that pulses with energy and connection.
As Leona Agouridis, President & CEO of Golden Triangle BID, says: it’s “about creating joyful public spaces for District residents and visitors while supporting our local businesses.”
