A Proper Christmas Is Already in Place

If your Christmas wish was to just wake up after Election Day and have the holidays already be here… Proper 21 heard you.

When the Metro Center venue (1319 F St NW) closed on election night, it underwent a magical makeover, reopening to ring in the holidays with Christmas-themed décor, photo opps, and a holiday-inspired cocktail list and prix-fixe food menu.

The very American menu includes traditional comfort foods like braised short ribs, goat cheese mashed potatoes, glazed crispy brussel sprouts, and mac and cheese. Small plates like crab-stuffed mushrooms make great starters — as do featured seasonal drinks, like the punch-perfect Mele Kalikimaka or the creamy, minty Very Merry Martini (each $13).

Santa isn’t sneaking around this year. The countdown to Christmas has… already happened. And it continues at Proper 21 daily from 4:30 PM-11:00 PM through Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
