The weekend will kick off with a “Haunted Hardware” costume party on Friday, Oct. 28th where guests can enjoy a DJ from 9 PM – close and enter for the chance to win “Best Costume.” The following night, Saturday,  join the “Thriller on Wilson” party for more music from 9 PM – close and take another shot at entering a second costume contest. Fall Festival at City Ridge @ City Ridge

Close out your Hallo-weekend this year at City Ridge, a bustling new neighborhood in Northwest DC. The neighborhood invites all friends and family to its FREE Fall Festival from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 at the center of City Ridge at 14 Ridge Square NW.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy a variety of seasonal activities from painting pumpkins to jumping around the Halloween bounce house. Local DC food truck favorite, Reba’s, will also be on-site serving up funnel cakes and other sweet treats for attendees to enjoy among Halloween hits played by a local DJ. Registration is completely free and can be accessed via this link.

Crawl for the Courts @ Various

On Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the local Falls Church restaurant community is coming together to host a Crawl for The Courts to benefit the employees of Irelands Four Courts. To participate, one will need to buy a voucher. The vouchers for the restaurant crawl will be available for purchase at each participating restaurant, on the day of the event. The cost is $100 per person and 100 percent of the proceeds raised will be presented to Irelands Four Courts, https://www.irelandsfourcourts.com/.  The patrons who come out to support this community effort will show their voucher to enjoy a bite and a drink special at each of the six participating restaurants.

On August 12, 2022, a car left the roadway and drove into Ireland’s Four Courts, the popular Irish pub in Arlington, Virginia, resulting in 15 people being injured from the fiery crash, including staff members of the restaurant. The accident created a destructive fire, closing the pub. Clare and Don’s Beach Shack and Ireland’s Four Provinces are organizing this Falls Church effort to support the staff of Irelands Four Courts. Saturday, November 5th, guests are invited to enjoy contortionists, magicians, escape artists, sword swallowers, aerialists, lollipop lyra performers and other spook-tacular performances. Attendees are also able to take part in interactive activities including tarot card and palm reading, balloon artistry, and glitter tattoos, and warm up with hot cocoa and bites from Agua 301 and Due South Dockside.

  • Tree Lighting Ceremony: Hosted by NBC4’s Shawn Yancy, City Ridge’s tree lighting ceremony will kick off at 7pm, featuring a performance and sing-along with a local choir.

  • Festive, Kid-Friendly Activities: Throughout the evening, families are invited to join all kinds of fun activities across the property, including face painting, crafts, train rides, opportunities to write letters to and take photos with Santa, and watch live performances from carolers, choirs and more.

  • Goodies & Giveaways: Warm up with delicious bites from King Street Oyster Bar before they open their permanent doors at City Ridge! At the Sweets Shoppe, guests can also select from a variety of seasonal treats including a  cup of hot chocolate from Tatte Bakery & Cafe or decorate cookies with Wegmans. Guests will also walk away with gifts and goodies to bring home and keep the celebrations going throughout the season.

Cookie Decorating + Ornament Painting Party  @ Calico

Calico is welcoming the holiday season with a festive Cookie Decorating + Ornament Painting Party on Sunday, December 4 from 1 to 6 pm. The heated urban backyard in Blagden Alley will be decked out as a charming winter wonderland for the holidays, with seasonal fun activities, hot cocktails, boozy gifts and wintry eats. The party is free to attend and open to the public.

Guests can get crafty by decorating their own freshly-baked cookies with a selection of edible adornments, including sprinkles, icing and other sweet toppings.

Attendees can also show off their artistry by painting ornaments (starting at $5/each) with complimentary communal painting supplies.

Other wintry food and drink specials will include boozy cookie shots and hot cocktails from bar director Ian Fletcher, and comforting mugs of soup from Chef Nathan Beauchamp.

There will also be a Christmas tree embellished with boozy ornaments and surprises from WhistlePig.
