Movies in the Park: Catch a Friday night flick at Virginia Highlands Park every week from July 29 through September 16. Grab a bite from a food truck or pack your own picnic to enjoy on Softball Field 3. Movies will begin at 7 PM and will include: The First Lego Movie (7/29); Tron (8/5); Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (8/12); Encanto (8/19); Sonic 2 (8/26); Ready Player One (9/2); Raya and the Last Dragon (9/9); and Spiderman No Way Home (9/16).
Calling all families to join in on the fun at the Explore! Children’s Festival located at The Modern at Art Place at Fort Totten. On Saturday, August 20, 27 and September 3, guests can enjoy free face painting, balloon twisting, magic shows, arts and crafts, sweet treats and snacks.
Each festival will also include live performances or demonstrations from local organizations and artists. On Saturday, August 20, guests can enjoy live music from The Uncle Devin Show, an interactive musical experience for children that uses percussion instruments to cultivate their minds – a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock. Guests for the August 27 and September 3rd event are to be announced.

AdMo Vibe is a series of free, outdoor concerts featuring local musicians in Kalorama Park on Columbia Road, NW. Concerts will be held on Wednesday evenings throughout the month of August (excluding August 17) from 6-7:30pm.
AdMo Vibe is the ultimate setting for a family night out, date night, relaxing evening in the park, or solo adventure. The bands will be playing various genres of music including folk, pop, classical, rock, jazz, and more. Participants can picnic with takeout from a local restaurant, enjoy good vibes with neighbors and friends, and visit an array of shops and boutiques just steps away before or after the performances.
The series kicks off on Wednesday, August 3 with the Saints Band, a band comprised of several talented students from Adams Morgan’s very own Sitar Arts Center. The students have performed at many DC events (including Adams Morgan PorchFest) and enjoy engaging with the community.
