Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). The Starlight Mid-Atlantic Foundation is all about stars – and their inner glow.

“This experience inspired me to do more volunteer work,”claimed Sanam Toossi (at left), one of the committee members who joined sponsors and supporters for the annual cocktail chic winter gala Saturday night.

Guests like Ms. Watson, the mother of a child with sickle cell anemia, shared Starlight’s impact on her life, toasting the organization, the “stars” and local artist Cayan, whose rap performance kept toes tapping and eyes twinkling all night.
