Politicos Turned Pamperers: Nectar Skin Bar

There’s a new oasis of skincare offerings in upper Georgetown, brought to you by partners in pampering, Amy and Brian Thomas (Dir. of Protocol for the Ambassador of the UAE and Chief of Staff for Rep. Kenny Marchant respectively, also, owners of nearby IPSA for Hair), who created this curated beauty concept to be a one-stop resource for glamming.

Visitors to Nectar Skin Bar bask in the first floor’s best-in-beauty collections from labels like Darphin, Butter London, Becca Cosmetics, ComfortZone and GlamGlow  (“It’s like an edited Bergdorf’s basement,” says one frequent customer), before heading upstairs for such select spa services as oxygen infusion facials, Softsense Italian waxing, organic Chocolate Sun spray tan, and LashDip mascara treatments (Super Score: Nectar is the only place to find this in DC!).

And that’s the magic of the matter: everything here is exceptional – and often exclusive.

“These are brands with cult followings that just hadn’t made their way to DC yet,” shares Amy, who specializes in finding the delightful and distinctive.  For years working as the official Gift Officer to President George W. Bush (she’s secured such stunners as a Tiffany rosary box for the Pope!), Amy also started a spa wish list on her world travels.  Because she doesn’t just get gifts, she gets you.

“It’s for all of the busy Washington women and men!  We thought we should put together the best of the best from around the world and offer it all right here, in one place.  It’s convenient, and also just pretty cool.”
