Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Miss Sinergy

October is National Breast Cancer month, if you couldn’t tell by the numerous posts on this charitable subject we’ve been running lately. While we think this cause is super important, we know you like to have fun, too, which is why we were thrilled to hear about the partnership between Sinergy, LLC and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Sinergy, an event planning company, is commited to charitable causes that improve the community… and is now introducing the first ever Miss Sinergy Pageant. “Hundreds” of contestants will be judged on their:

-desire to contribute to national and international causes affecting quality of life around the world
-giving back to the environment
-confidence
-self-respect
-congeniality, and
-mental/physical health

But what’s a pageant without the swimsuits and evening gowns? Finalists will compete in the Finale at the House of Sweden on Saturday, November 14th. Go here to compete, attend, or learn more about the competition.
