Love Re-Opens, New Ownership Expected Soon?

In DC’s nightlife scene, it seems that everyone but everyone knows that the best way to bring your crushed club back as a trendy top spot is to shut down, put up a new coat of paint, change the furniture, and knight it with a new name.

But not Marc Barnes.  It seems he would rather dump a dud and put the spotlight on greener pastures.

Love Nightclub, one of Barnes’ two large properties, is set to re-open on Saturday.  The largest nightclub in DC, Love was closed in January due to a string of violent incidents, including a non-fatal stabbing.  P. Diddy, Wale, Ludacris and Gilbert Arenas can expect increased security from now on.

See lesson above.  Ignored.

But that doesn’t mean Barnes won’t cut and run.  Despite the re-opening celebrations, rumor has it that he is currently in negotiations to sell the plagued party room.
