Kate Michael

Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Light the Night

Didn’t get tickets to the National Christmas Tree Lighting? Yeah, we didn’t either. Lottery losers, the lot of us. (Unless you WON, and then, we need to talk!) But we can still light up the night!

Just a few blocks away from the festivities, the Hilton Garden Inn is hosting a post-National Christmas Tree Lighting reception, from 7-9 PM on Thursday, December 3rd (that’s tomorrow…) which is open to the public and free of charge. Warm up to complimentary hors d’oeuvres prepared by the award winning Nathan Bearfield and specially-priced, event-specific signature cocktails, or – bah humbug – a normal cash bar is available, too. Either way, make sure you’re there at 8:30 when Santa makes an appearance to formally herald the arrival of the holiday season.
