Good Eats

Congratulations to DC’s Roosevelt Senior High School. The school won a national contest put on by Reader’s Digest, Share our Strength and the Food Network and officially unveiled its new edible “Good Food Garden” today. The aim of the program is to inspire lifelong eating habits and educate families on the importance of incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into their daily diets.

Matt Hill, Executive Chef of Charlie Palmer Steak lead a harvest-themed food demonstration with the school’s culinary arts students, preparing a continental breakfast for all event attendees, including Chuck Scofield of Share our Strength, and their principal Ms. Adela Acosta. Chancellor Rhee was not able to be in attendance, but sent a representative.
