Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Description: STEMS of Success will convene professionals from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), government and non-profit sectors to create a prime networking affair. This posh event will be held at the Goethe Art Institut, a trendy art gallery in the heart of Washington D.C.  Guests will have a chance to mingle with honorees from NASA, Teach for America & The Department of Energy. Philanthropist and entrepreneur Edie Fraser will host this networking event.
The featured event for the evening will be a luxury silent auction to directly benefit the Brilliant & Beautiful Foundation. Brilliant & Beautiful Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the aspirations of women in scientific research and scientific enterprise. Their mission is to provide educational support, leadership, and opportunities for women pursuing careers in science.
