Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. WHAT: Shinola, known for its handcrafted, American-made watches, bicycles, leather goods, journals and pet accessories, will celebrate the newest items in their pet collection with a special animal event in partnership with the Washington Humane Society (WHS). The DC storefront will offer a variety of activities for local furry friends. Woofie’s Mobile Pet Spa and the Washington Humane Society’s Mobile Pet Adoption Center: Adopt Force One, will be parked in front of the store on DC’s bustling 14th street. Shinola will treat shoppers to complimentary mini grooming services for their whiskered friends, as well as refreshments and light snacks for humans and animal guests alike.
