As summer sadly winds down, Bethesda’s Redwood Restaurant and Bar is celebrating the end of the season with a Crab Feast & Patio Party on Saturday, September 19.

This family-friendly weekend bash has all the makings of a perfect summer picnic: bushels of hot, steamed crabs, live local music, an outdoor grill serving up classic American fare, refreshing summer beers, wines and cocktails, and kids activities, all on Bethesda Row’s main thoroughfare, “The Lane.” Though the event is open to the public and free to enter, Redwood will offer several ticketed crab feast options, including all-you-can-eat and by-the-half-dozen. Armed with plenty of Old Bay and mallets, Redwood will serve the crabs alongside down-home sides such as homemade potato salad, hush puppies, and corn on the cob.

Here are ticketed crab feast options below: General Admission: $39 Includes 1/2 dozen crabs, 3 drink tickets, a round of sides & commemorative Redwood mallet VIP Package: $59 Includes all-you-can-eat crabs, 3 drink tickets, unlimited sides, reserved seating & commemorative Redwood mallet Kids Package: $15 Includes 3 crabs or a hot dog, one side, one soft drink & 1 kids activity ticket And for those who just want to have a drink and enjoy the music, Redwood will have the outdoor grill going, with hot dogs and burgers available a la carte, and two outdoor bars slinging beers such as Jailbreak, DC Brau, Flying Dog and Natty Boh (on special between $3 and $5), specialty Redwood mason jar cocktails for $6, and wines ranging from $4-$8.

Local music school, Bach to Rock, will provide musical entertainment along with several other local bands throughout the afternoon. And families are invited to bring the kids: Redwood will serve kid-friendly bites and host fun activities on The Lane, including face painting and origami.
