The Heurich House Museum will host its third annual Pride in Preservation event on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm. This Pride Month event will honor the National Park Service (NPS) LGBTQ Heritage Initiative with a panel discussion by NPS staff on heritage sites and ways for the public to get involved. Panelists include Stephen Morris, Chief, NPS Office of International Affairs; Megan Springate, Prime Consultant for NPS LGBTQ Heritage Initiative; Mark Meinke, LGBTQ preservation advocate; and Amber Bailey, Sally Kress Tompkins Fellow, NPS Historic American Buildings Survey. Barbara Little, Program Manager NPS Cultural Resource Office of Interpretation and Education will moderate the panel.

The panel will be followed by a light reception as guests explore the historic home and garden of DC brewmaster Christian Heurich. The museum, also known as the “Brewmaster’s Castle,” is a historic landmark in Dupont Circle, the neighborhood recognized as a home to DC’s LGBTQ community. Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased at www.heurichhouse.org/pride. Guests must be 21 or older.
