Eight popular District bars are teaming up for a tasting tour of eight
specialty margaritas during the first annual DC Margarita March on Saturday, April
27th. Participants enjoy a different 12-ounce pour of Mexico’s favorite cocktail as they
journey from venue to venue. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Inspirational Medicine
and Washington Literacy Center, leading local non-profit organizations that directly
support vulnerable populations in Baltimore and Washington DC.
The
Margarita March gets participants into the Cinco de Mayo spirit eight days early with
Mariachi music along with specials on beers, food pairings and the featured margaritas.
The crowd will begin their day by checking in from 12:00-4:00pm at Alero on U Street, and
then proceed in whatever order they choose during this unique all-day tasting tour. All of
the margaritas are made with Cointreau, the famous orange liqueur that is the key to the

In addition, during the event, participants are also entitled to special prices on: (a) the
margarita each bar is featuring; (b) a beer pairing at $3.00–$4.00, including Corona,
Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negro Modelo and Pacifico; and (c) a food pairing at
