Despite Christian Heurich’s valiant effort to fight the temperance movement that has taken hold of this country, Senator Sheppard’s newly introduced “Bone Dry Act” could force Prohibition on the District before the year is out. In preparation for this calamity and in celebration of his award-winning beer, Heurich’s Lager, Mr. Heurich invites you to a celebration at his Dupont Circle mansion on Thursday, March 24, 1916 from 8 to 10 pm.

Mr. Heurich has secured the best jazz band to play from his musician’s balcony and Mrs. Heurich has directed that all hors d’oeuvres be crafted with Heurich’s Lager. Come dressed to impress in your best 1916 fashions. Gents: break out your top hats, gloves and canes. Ladies, get those hats and dresses ready! For twenty of the most adventurous and important of guests, DC Brau head brewer Jeffrey Hancock will be available for a private tasting hour from 7-8 pm.

Brewed by DC Brau, Heurich’s Lager is a historic re-creation of the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co.’s pre-Prohibition Lager Beer. All proceeds from this event benefit the care and preservation of Heurich House Museum, the historic Dupont Circle home of DC brewmaster Christian Heurich and family. Guests must be 21 and older. Heurich’s Lager will be available for a limited time only; don’t miss this opportunity to taste history. Tickets and additional information available at bit.ly/heurich.
