Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown’s Canine Ambassador Georgie*, invites friends and neighbors to stop by with their canine companions for Fairmont’s 11th annual Howl-O-Ween.  The event, takes place on Thursday, October 27 in the Courtyard Bar from 6:00pm and 7:30pm.

Prizes will be awarded at 7:00pm to costumed doggies with their people, such as overnight stays, dinners and more. Local celebrity judges will award prizes for most creative, most adorable, funniest and honorable mentions.

All dogs will be pawsatively treated to peanut butter doggie biscuits created by Fairmont’s pastry team, and canine coolers will be placed throughout the courtyard. Humans can purchase spooky canine-themed cocktails along with Puptails and Doggie Dinners for all four-legged guests.

*Georgie, a yellow Labrador puppy, was born on August 17, 2018 at Guiding Eyes for the Blind, with the aspiration of one day becoming a guide dog.  However, she was found to be excessively friendly for that role.  Luckily, Mark Huntley the hotel’s general manager, knew she was better suited for the hospitality industry.  She spends her time in the lobby and courtyard greeting guests, visitors and holding special events.
