Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. On Friday, June 24, the historic Howard Theatre (620 T St. NW) will host six-time Grammy Award-winning artist andRock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dr. John & the Nite Trippers for the D.C. leg of his The Spirit of Satch tour. The international cultural icon will perform a blend of funk, zydeco, rhythm & blues, and psychedelic rock music from his newest album Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of the Satch, in addition to classics from his 21-album discography. Tickets to see the legendary musician are $50 for general, fully-seated admission here. VIP tickets are available on a first come, first served basis for $70.
