Ask Me Another, public radio’s newest quiz show, is leaving its Brooklyn stomping grounds this fall for a getaway to the nation’s capital. With DC music legend and punk rock icon Ian MacKaye as the night’s VIP (puzzle speak for Very Important Puzzler), the weekly program, co-produced by NPR and WNYC, will tape in front of an audience in Studio 1 at NPR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. Tickets for the event on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:00 PM (ET) are $15 and available now at amadc.brownpapertickets.com/.

Ask Me Another’s irrepressible host, comedian Ophira Eisenberg, will take the stage with House Musician Jonathan Coulton. Along with the show’s expert puzzle gurus, Ophira and Jonathan have prepared brain benders fit for DC’s finest. MacKaye will join Ask Me Another to discuss his career in music and won’t leave NPR HQ until he has answered to the show’s puzzle gurus, who will drum up a special quiz just for him. Contestants too will play original trivia, word puzzles, along with music and pop culture games. Would-be-contestants, who think they have what it takes to compete in a live round of trivia during the show, should email askmeanother@npr.org and make sure to put “DC” in the subject line.

Since its launch, Ask Me Another’s live shows have become one of New York’s staple entertainment offerings, making it a headliner at the area’s famed SummerStage performing arts festival this summer. The show tapes regularly in front of an audience at The Bell House in Brooklyn, NY, and on the road in cities around the U.S.; a schedule of upcoming dates and tickets is available here. Ask Me Another airs on more than 200 public radio stations across the country, and each episode is also available as a podcast, on NPR’s mobile apps and at askmeanother.org. Visit the show’s Facebook page and follow its Twitter account (@NPRAskMeAnother) to learn more.
