Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Join Host JC Hayward of WUSA9 News, Jeffrey Slavin and more than 500 supporters of the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) on Friday, June 7, for an evening of fun and inspiration!

At NCCF, we embrace the philosophy that “beauty heals,” and when children and families participate in our programs, they believe that they are valuable and beautiful. For over a decade, the Art & Soul Charity Auction has recognized artists and performers who care deeply about our community and support children and youth in need. The event includes a silent and live auction with original artwork, jewelry and more!

The program will kick-off with Harambee, a Kenyan ceremony of cheers and chants, performed by NCCF’s young Freedom School Scholars. Throughout the evening, guests can mix and mingle to the sounds of local musicians Kara Falk and Stone Kawala, while enjoying hors d’oeuvres from Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Olazzo, Mrs. K’s Tollhouse and other fine-dining restaurants throughout the region.
