Ancient Ales and Archaeology

History Happy Hour and Beer Tasting

The Capitol Archaeological Institute is throwing its first fundraiser for the Institute on Thursday, January 30th (5:30-8:30PM) in Washington, DC.   The event will be part of our new Ancient Ales and Archaeology series and will be a Shipwreck focused Beer Tasting with Heavy Seas Brewery. ” We’re serving heavy seas cask ales and will have one of our maritime archaeologists who studies shipwrecks off of the African coast and in the Caribbean will be giving a bit of cool trivia on ancient shipwrecks and booze and some of his adventures. But the event is first and foremost a beer tasting and we just want people to have a good time so they can see archaeology in the same awesome way that we do, we will have a DJ, raffle for set of free scuba diving lessons.  We will be holding the event at the Power House in Georgetown and if attendees use the Hailo Taxi App code “GETDIRTY” they can get $5 off of their first trip and Hailo will donate $5 to our non-profit institute!”
