Capitol File Screens PoliWood

Capitol File and the Creative Coalition introduced a unique pre-WHCD festivity last weekend – premiering a documentary on the ‘Collision and Collusion of Hollywood, Washington and the Media.’

Last Friday evening at the Naval Heritage Museum (Kudos to Capitol File for finding this gem — it’s an exceptional place to hold theatre events!), legendary Academy Award®-winning director Barry Levinson premiered POLIWOOD direct from the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival.

POLIWOOD is a documentary film where ‘politicians are the celebrity, celebrities attempt to untangle policy, and media reports it all,’ set during the time of the McCain/Obama campaigns and featuring Anne Hathaway, Alfre Woodard, Spike Lee, Sting, Tim Daly, Kerry Washington, Dana Delany, Will I.M.., Mos Def and other notables on the trail with Levinson.
K Street Kate spoke on the red carpet with some of these celebrities and others, asking some political questions… and getting the scoop on their DC experience. Matthew Modine tells us why he would or would not run for political office one day… Tim Daly says he was the only one in the film willing to ‘air his dirty laundry’… and Kerry Washington gives us the goods on some of her favorite DC eateries.
