Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The MSNBC Morning Joe co-Host spoke on her new book, “Knowing Your Value: Women, Money, and Getting What You’re Worth,” on Wednesday at the Sixth & I Synagogue.

Sharing candid anecdotes of her own career obstacles with the latest research on equal pay, women in the boardroom, and access to start-up capital, Brzezinski offered personal stories, observations, and advice from some of America’s most successful women and men – including Joy Behar, Tina Brown, Nora Ephron, Arianna Huffington, Valerie Jarrett, Sheryl Sandberg, Donald Trump, and Jack Welch, followed by a book signing.
