Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Artful Phillips Collection Makes Music – FREE this Weekend

This weekend (June 4/5) musicians improvise to artworks in the permanent collection and visitors create jazz-inspired sculpture to take home while exploring an exhibition of artwork by local elementary students and visiting the “instrument petting zoo” at the Phillips Collection.

DC’s notable private museum of modern art collaborates with the DC Jazz Festival and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to offer free public admission for art and musical accompaniments.

Saturday (10 AM – 5 PM) and Sunday (11 AM – 6 PM) check out:

The Jess Righthand Trio and James King Quartet performing live jazz in the Music Room
Violinist David Schulman interpreting paintings through jazz in the galleries
