DC does love its rooftops.  And a new rooftop bar at the Wharf??!  Expect this new spot to be the height of capital cool.

12 Stories is located at the top — 12th story — of the The InterContinental Hotel at The Wharf.  This penthouse bar boasts a nearly 360-degree view of The Potomac and the Washington skyline.

If you can turn your attention to anything but those sweeping views of the nation’s capital, you’ll enjoy 12 Stories’ modern artwork by Paige Smith and industrial-chic design touches.

The bar’s cocktail menu is the traditional riff on the classics, but favorites include a Superchilled Negroni, GG Manhattan, and Casamigos Margarita that you’ll enjoy sipping alongside some higher class nibbles like the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich or a Ceviche style Crudo.  And oh the oysters!

May starts brunch service, so plan to wake up early to snag those spots.

12 Stories will be open Monday-Friday, 4pm to 2am and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2am.
